The conical mechanical seals easily fit by just pushing on the shaft and then twisting the spring winding. By twisting or pushing the diameter of the spring, the spring enlarges, which makes the conical mechanical seal fit easily. The direction of rotation of the seals can be easily noticed by just watching the drive end of the shaft.
